Cinema Akil’s Arab Cinema Week Vol. 5 returns from June 5–11, celebrating five years of contemporary Arab storytelling through cinema. This year’s edition brings together 9 films from across the Arab world, exploring themes of memory, identity, conflict, family and belonging.

A special focus is dedicated to Lebanese cinema, with films reflecting on Beirut, archives, war and survival, alongside stories from Sudan, Iraq, Libya and beyond.

More than just a film festival, Arab Cinema Week positions cinema as a living archive of the region’s emotions and collective memory, with filmmaker Q&As and conversations accompanying selected screenings at Cinema Akil in Alserkal Avenue.
